Wise Words from a Dear Brother

I received some wisdom from a dear brother in the church this morning. It made me think about a few things in a different light. Perhaps this man's wisdom will be of benefit to you all as well.

  1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
  2. When looking for a spouse, be conscious of those you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
  3. Don't believe all you hear, Don't spend all you have and Don't sleep all you want.
  4. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
  5. Never laugh at anyone's dream.
  6. Love deeply and freely. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
  7. Don't judge people by their family, possessions or social standing.
  8. Talk slowly but think quickly.
  9. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
  10. Remember the three R's: Respect for Self; Respect for Others; and Responsibility for all your Actions.
  11. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
  12. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. Go to those who have wronged you or you have wronged. (Matthew 18)

Excellent words of advice. We all would be wise to heed them!
