The Joys of a Nursing Student

I could not have asked for a better week of school! Take for instance, my first day in microbiology- I obtained a pure sample of E.Coli and prepared it in a petri dish for growth and maturation. (Don't worry, all you germ-a-phobes out there I wore gloves, a lab coat and goggles. I was fully protected!) This was the first unadultered and raw sample of E. Coli that I had ever seen with my very own eyes! Please do NOT be jealous!

Today I took a sample from the local lake and found an amoeba. A living, breathing amoeba was directly under my microscope.

I love class, I love lab and I love school!
This week in physiology I am swabbing my cheek and testing it for bacteria. Stay tuned for the results :)
