Sweet Summertime
Summer has officially started….woo hoo! I have survived my freshman year at UCF. This year has had it’s up and downs but I have really enjoyed it!
With school behind me (at least for a little while), here are a few things I am looking forward to:
- Visiting with old friends
- Spending time in Georgia
- Relaxing at the beach
- Zach & Emily's Wedding
- Soaking up some Florida rays
- Harmony Highlands
I am tickled pink to bring out the bathing suits, sunscreen, inevitable aloe vera and picnic lunches. Let's hit the beach!

Summer Itch
Yeah, I finally have a chance to sit down and write for a bit! : )
Madalyn's surgery was cancelled due to a "bug." They will have to reschedule her appointment. Please continue to pray for Miss Madalyn and sweet Katie.
School is going well. My classes are getting pretty intense but I'm up for the challenge. I have two weeks before finals and I can't wait to be out. I have come down with a severe case of the "summer itch." I can't wait for my feet to hit the white sand so I can enjoy some Florida rays.
In treating the "summer itch" I bought a new kiNNda funky outfit. (It was inspired by you, Marjoniqua -Thanks)
This past month, I was blessed to visit with a dear friend of mine. Although we have gone our separate ways, I am thankful that we had the chance to come together, respect our differences and love each other all the same. We spent the weekend reminiscing on old memories and realized that we had both unconsciously changed. We're no longer little girls with school girl crushes worrying about what to wear to the prom. Instead, we are rational "adults" contemplating nursing/med school. The two of us went from dancing around her room in pj's to sipping coffee at the local Starbucks©. My oh my how a single year can change a person!?!? After the weekend with my best friend, I was reminded of the small things in life that make it all peachy : )

Prayers for Madalyn
Hello All:
This will be a very short post as my week has been VERY hectic and a bit stressful. I will try to post in more detail once things settle down.
For now, I would just ask an interest in your prayers for friends of mine, Katie and Shaun. Their daughter, Madalyn, is having bladder/ureter surgery next Thursday! Miss Madalyn is a very SWEET, energetic child. I would truly appreciate it if you all kept the McDonnell Family in your thoughts & prayers. Here is a link to their page if you wan to read more about Madalyn and her condition. http://www.mcdonnellplace.com/index.html
That's all for now. I'm back to studying the digestive system for anatomy. Who knew the bladder could hold 900-1,000 ml?

I Love Alabama
After a sad goodbye, I sat in the airport terminal and waited for my plane to take off. I cried off and on remembering the days and nights spent in Birmingham. My tears were lessened when I talked to a friend of mine. I was reminded that it was not goodbye but see you later. Those words put a smile on my face. (I appreciate those kind words…Thank you)
While sitting in front of the gate, I couldn’t help but miss everyone. I’ve never visited a place where I felt such a warm spirit. This past weekend, I made memories that will last a lifetime.
With that said, I am going to share some of the landmarks from my vacation. ENJOY!
